“I’m trying to figure out what plants are in my biome.  So I think I’ll look up what the animals in that biome eat, and that will probably lead me to the plants.”

I love problem-solving like this!

Happy Birthday, Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Media Center Update

March 12th, 2009

Whew – we’ve been getting busier and busier around here!

Kindergarten is exploring non-fiction.

First graders have been learning to use digital cameras to create collage illustrations.  They’re writing stories based on the collaged characters they made, then reading their finished work into the computer.  Stay tuned!

Second graders are continuing to explore volcanoes.

Mrs K’s third grade is getting to know PowerPoint for reports.

Mrs P’s class is finishing up its fourth grade radio play.

Fifth grade biomes are coming soon!

Kindergarten featured on Beverly News!

January 22nd, 2009

Kindergarteners wondered what happened to Anansi and Crab after they got stranded on the moon in Anansi’s Party Time.  Since there are no more Anansi books to tell us, we practiced writing a story with a beginning, middle, and end.  We worked together in groups to storyboard our work first, using words or pictures, then read our stories into a digital voice recorder.

Here are Mrs. Bo’s PM classes’ stories.  Enjoy!

Happy Inauguration Day!

I Spy Fish Detectives!

December 11th, 2008  Tagged

Check out the first grade fish detectives!

Have you spied the first grade Fish Detectives? You can recognize them from their big fish name tags and their caddy full of fish research books, science journals, and fish scale identification charts.  Keep your eyes open for them!  Thank you Mr. M for the timer and Miss W and Mrs. W for the name tags, journals charts.  The other supplies came from the Media Center.
